Announcing Smarter, Actionable Alerts for Greater Data Quality
For most teams, data quality monitoring is reactive. Issues are discovered after they've already impacted downstream analytics, reporting, or machine learning models. Most solutions either flood you with noise or provide generic alerts that prolong time-to-resolution.
Even with Snowplow's existing data quality dashboard providing visibility into failed events, many customers told us they wanted more proactive ways to catch problems early and route notifications to the right teams without manual monitoring.
That's why we built Failed Event Alerts, a new enhancement to the Data Quality Dashboard. Now, teams can set up custom monitoring that integrates directly into existing communication tools, so you can catch data quality issues before they escalate.
Introducing Failed Event Alerts
Failed Event Alerts are now accessible directly from Snowplow’s Data Quality Dashboard, allowing teams to create alerts that fit within their current workflows.
The release underscores Snowplow’s commitment to providing teams with reliable, trustworthy, high-quality data. With this new solution, you can create targeted, informative, and actionable alerts so that reduce alert fatigue, resolve issues faster, and strengthen data ownership.
Key Capabilities:
- Filterable Alerts: Create custom alerts by filtering on App ID, Issue type, or Data Structure. This routes notifications directly to the teams responsible for those data streams, reducing noise and strengthening data ownership.
- Workflow Integrations: Deliver alerts directly into the tools your teams use every day. Current integrations include:
- Email: Send detailed notifications to one or more recipients.
- Slack: Pipe alerts to a dedicated Slack channel for immediate team-wide visibility.
- Context-Rich Notifications: Every alert contains the details needed to begin an investigation, accelerating time-to-resolution.
- [Coming Soon] Volume-Based Thresholds: In an upcoming release, triggering alerts based on thresholds within a set time interval will be enabled, (ie: over 1,000 events within 10 minutes), helping teams further instantly distinguish between minor issues and critical problems.
Move beyond default settings and integrate alerts that deliver clear, contextual, and actionable insights.
