Do I still need an identity graph if I have a CDP?

CDPs were built around a marketing user, not a data team. The identity graph inside a CDP is configured through a marketing UI, the matching rules sit inside the vendor's platform, and the graph itself never makes it into your warehouse in a usable form. You can sync resolved profiles out, but the relationships between identifiers stay locked inside the CDP. If your team needs to audit merges, write custom resolution logic, or feed the graph into ML and analytics workflows, a separate graph layer in your own infrastructure is the practical answer.
