Agent Intelligence

See which AI agents visit your site, and why.

Most AI agents never show up in tag-based analytics. Agent Intelligence shows each known agent and the company behind it, so you can decide how your business serves them.

Your AI visitors, next to your human ones.

An agent reads your page, an AI assistant answers with it, and a few people click back. Your analytics sees only the clicks. For every page on your site, you see four things.

  1. 1 of 4

    Each known agent, by name

GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot and the other known agents that request your pages, each with the company that runs it, such as OpenAI or Anthropic.

    Why it came

Where the purpose is known, you see it: training an AI model, indexing for AI search, fetching a page for a person, building a link preview, or indexing for traditional search.

How it works

Agent Intelligence runs on your Snowplow pipeline, and the results land in your own warehouse. Your engineers add one tracker at your CDN, and your marketing and data teams get the tables.

  1. Agents and people

Every visit, from a person or an agent, reaches your CDN first.

  2. Your CDN

It sees every request, including agents that never run JavaScript. You choose which ones to send to your pipeline.

  3. Name each agent

Each request is matched against a list of known agents that Snowplow provides. A match adds the company and, where known, the purpose.

  4. Your warehouse

Agent requests and human visits land in your own warehouse, as daily tables and scorecards by page and by company.

What it shows in your industry

Media and publishing

See which agents read your articles, and whether they send readers back.

Most AI agents read an article without running the scripts that show ads. Since 15 September 2026, Cloudflare blocks AI training bots and AI agents by default on pages that show ads, for domains newly added to Cloudflare.

Retail

See which agents read your product pages, and which pages they pass over.

Personal agents can now buy on a shopper's behalf. Walmart and Shopify are among the partners developing the Personal Agent Protocol, an open standard from Sierra and Meta for how personal agents deal with businesses.

Travel

See which agents reach your fare and booking pages.

Travelers now plan trips inside AI assistants. Virgin Atlantic (April 2026) and Southwest (October 2026) launched in ChatGPT. Travelers search and compare flights there, and Virgin Atlantic sends them to its own site or app to book.

Questions about Agent Intelligence

What do I need?

Agent Intelligence is an add-on for Snowplow Cloud and Private Managed Cloud. You also need three things. Your site is served through Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront or Fastly, and you can change its settings. The Snowplow JavaScript tracker runs on your site, for the visits people make. A Snowflake warehouse holds the ready-made data model.

How do I set it up?

Four steps, each covered in the Agent Intelligence docs. Request Agent Intelligence from the All Products page in Console. Add a CDN tracker next to your existing tracking. Turn on the enrichments it needs, including agent classification. Then run the Agent Analytics data model in your Snowflake warehouse.

Which agents does it recognize?

Known agents: the ones on the list Snowplow provides, such as OpenAI's GPTBot and ChatGPT-User. You can add your own entries. An agent that isn't on the list isn't named.

Does it replace my web analytics?

No. It works alongside your existing tag. Your CDN sees every request, including agents that never run JavaScript. On a single-page app, your tag still records each page a person moves to, where the CDN sees one request.

How is it different from bot detection?

They do opposite jobs. Bot detection flags automated traffic so you can filter it out of your human analytics. Agent Intelligence keeps the known AI agents and gives you the data to study them.

Does it slow my site down?

On Cloudflare, the Worker sends each event to your pipeline in the background, so it adds no extra latency and doesn't hold up the page. On CloudFront, it works from the CDN's access logs. On Fastly, it logs each request after the page is served.

Will my CDN cost more?

It can. On Cloudflare, a busy site will likely need Cloudflare's Workers Paid plan. On CloudFront and Fastly, the CDN logs every request, including images, fonts and scripts, so the docs show how to keep only page requests and hold the volume down.

Can I use it on Shopify or Webflow?

It depends on whether you can put Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront or Fastly in front of your site and change its settings. Talk to us about your setup.

Can it block agents?

No. It shows you which agents visit and what they ask for, so you can decide. Allowing or blocking an agent is set in your CDN.

Who owns the data?

You do. Agent requests and human visits land in your own warehouse, in tables you can query.

Where's the documentation?

Setup and reference are in the Agent Intelligence docs.
