Introducing Agent Intelligence: See How AI Platforms Use Your Site

Can you tell which AI platforms read your content, which pages they read, and whether they send anyone back? For most teams the answer is no. AI assistants are becoming a way people discover content, but most AI agents don't run JavaScript, so client-side analytics never records their visits.

Agent Intelligence is a new Snowplow add-on that shows you that traffic. It captures AI agents at your CDN, the layer that serves your site's pages, and puts them side by side with your human data in your warehouse.

Agent Intelligence is available today as a paid add-on for Snowplow Cloud and Private Managed Cloud customers.

See the whole AI journey, not just the last click

AI platforms interact with your site several times before a person ever shows up. An agent might index a page for model training. An assistant might later fetch the latest version of that page to answer someone's question and recommend it. That person might then click through.

Traditional analytics only records the final click. Agent Intelligence shows the rest of the journey.

That's the opposite of bot filtering. Snowplow's bot detection enrichment flags automated traffic so you can filter it out of your human analytics. Whereas Agent Intelligence captures known AI agents and gives you the data to study them.

What teams can answer with Agent Intelligence

  • Which AI platforms read your content. Break down AI traffic by platform, operator, and purpose.
  • Which pages agents read but people don't. Find old archive, tag, and feed pages that soak up agent attention, so you can remove or deprioritize them and point agents to your best content.
  • Which pages people read but agents ignore. Identify candidates to optimize for AI search and answer engines.
  • Which AI platforms send visitors back. See how many pages each operator requests against how many visits it refers, over rolling 7, 30, and 90 day windows. Human visits referred by AI products are credited to the operator behind them, such as OpenAI for ChatGPT.
  • How AI visibility changes over time. Track daily trends in how often each platform reads your site. CDN counts are a lower bound, so use them for direction and relative popularity rather than exact totals.
  • Questions in plain English. Snowflake customers can add an optional semantic view and ask questions of the data through Snowflake CoWork.

What's in the Agent Intelligence package

The package has three components that work together:

  • CDN trackers. CDN trackers capture every request at the CDN, including requests from agents that don't run JavaScript.
  • Agent classification enrichment. Identifies each known agent's operator, for example OpenAI, and its purpose: AI training, AI search indexing, AI user fetch, link previews, or traditional search indexing.
  • Agent Analytics dbt package. The Agent Analytics dbt package is an incremental data model that produces BI-ready tables on agent activity and AI-referred human page views, broken down by operator, page, and agent.

CDN tracking adds to your client-side tracking rather than replacing it. CDN trackers and the JavaScript tracker send events through the same pipeline, and the data model combines them in your warehouse. The JavaScript tracker keeps capturing the detail of human behavior. This matters on single-page apps, where many page views show up as one CDN request.

Setting up Agent Intelligence

Agent Intelligence needs a Snowflake warehouse. Setup takes a few steps, and you can try it in the Snowplow 14-day free trial.

  • Request the Agent Intelligence add-on from the All Products page in Console.
  • Deploy a CDN tracker. Your engineering team adds the tracker, and depending on your traffic, your CDN may charge for the extra usage.
  • Enable the required enrichments in Console, including agent classification.
  • Run the Agent Analytics data model in your Snowflake warehouse.

Agent Intelligence builds on our work in bot detection, and it's part of a broader focus on helping teams understand how bots and AI agents interact with their sites.
